Chesapeake Utilities Corporation reports quarterly income

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, a Delaware-based energy company, reported a first-quarter net income of $19.1 million, compared to $20.4 million in the same period of 2016.

Earnings per share were also slightly down at $1.17 compared to $1.33 last year.

Growth continued throughout the company’s subsidiaries, including Eight Flags Energy, LLC, Combined Heat & Power, and Peninsula Energy Services Company, Inc.

But the growth was offset by warmer than normal weather and higher operating expenses.
