AGE: 38
TITLE: Vice President of Operations
COMPANY:
SoDel Concepts
WORKS IN:
Rehoboth Beach

What the nominator said:

“As the current vice president of operations for SoDel, Mike oversees operations at all 10 of our restaurants, but his greatest talent is his ability to read the story of the restaurant through the reported numbers. Additionally, Mike is an organizer for the SoDel Cares annual event, which raised over $100,000 in September of 2016.”

Social media platform you can’t live without:

There isn’t one that I can’t live without, per se, but as a company we create and push out a lot of content on both Facebook and Instagram in an effort to better get our brand and mission out to the world.”

Biggest break:

“Having a friend who had Matt Haley’s cell phone number.”

Two words that best describe you:

Generous and energetic.

Work/life balance technique you recommend:

“The first 10 years after I graduated from college I had close to zero balance, which the restaurant business can do to you. Looking back, it is not something that I would necessarily change, but it probably wasn’t super healthy either. Meeting my wife, getting married, and raising a family has exponentially increased my desire to have a work/life balance. Now I schedule time away and make every effort to stick to it, just like I schedule meetings.”

Your advice for the next generation:

“Take responsibility for your life and your actions, and don’t rely on any person or entity to provide for you.”

In one sentence, define success:

“Knowing you wouldn’t change a single thing because you don’t want to be anywhere other than right where you are.”
