The Delaware Contractors Association (DCA) has hired outgoing state Rep. Bryon Short as its new executive vice president.

Short will join DCA after a 10-year career as the 7th District Representative in the Delaware General Assembly. He announced his retirement in February.

DCA formed in 1969 with the merger of two long-established construction trade groups. Its members make up the bulk of contractors in Delaware, accounting for 80 percent of all building, commercial, heavy, highway, industrial, institutional and utility construction.

“We are very excited to have Bryon accepting the role of Executive Vice President of DCA”, said Dan
Hahn, board president of the Association. “Bryon has been a small business owner, former employee of
the Delaware Department of Transportation, and his years serving in the State Legislature provides him
with an excellent background to assume our leadership position. The Board looks forward to working
with him to continue and expand our membership and programs for many years”.

Bryon will officially start his role on October 1, 2018.
