NEW YORK— The Brandywine Building and The Grand are two of the Wilmington buildings that will turn teal on November 3 to remind passersby of the need for Alzheimer’s disease research.
More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth most common cause of death in the United States, and the only one of the top 10 without a cure or meaningful treatment.
This is the third year of the campaign by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. This year, nearly 200 landmarks internationally are participating, including LAX Airport, Coney Island, the Empire State Building, Trafalgar Square in London, Sichuan Tower in China, The NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville and the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls.
