New Castle County’s summer youth employment program launches this Saturday, March 24 in New Castle and Wednesday, March 28 in Middletown.

The program provides low-income county residents between the ages of 14-20 with paid positions focused on work-based learning.

“The Summer Youth Employment Program connects our young people with opportunities to explore a career and gives them real-world experience to build a bright future,” said County Executive Matt Meyer. “Hey teenagers, make something of your summer. Complete an application today and bring it to our summer job fair.”

Interested candidates should expect to take part in a brief interview during the job fair and come prepared in business casual attire. Employment opportunities with the county and partnering nonprofits will be available.

New Castle County pays for the program with a mix of state and county funding.
