Tech Forum’s 2016 Idea Challenge will team “Tech Geeks” and “Do Gooders” to generate new ideas to make Wilmington better place to work and live.
The event, scheduled for March 16th, will demonstrate ideation and show how technology, innovation and collaboration can result in new concepts to make Wilmington a better place to live and work.
Mac Nagaswami, CEO of Carvertise, will provide an orientation to the entrepreneurial process, and Rick Jensen, WDEL radio talk show host will be the emcee for the evening.
Teams include representatives from the Greater Wilmington Convention & Visitor Bureau, Downtown Visions, Wilmington University, the Small Business Administration, Great Dames/Inspiring Women in STEM, Christiana Care Health System and Zip Code Wilmington students.
The teams will be briefed by experts from the University of Delaware Horn Program and Start It Up Delaware on the entrepreneurial ideation process and how to pitch a concept, and then presented with the Challenge Problem. The team members will then work collaboratively to generate ideas to address the issues, and prepare a pitch to present to the audience of Tech Forum members and guests that evening. The concepts will be evaluated by a panel of judges and the audience.
This year, the teams will be given a chance to turn their concepts into reality.
The event will start 5:30 PM at 1313 Innovation in the Hercules Building in downtown Wilmington. Visit techforumde.org for more information and to register for the event.
