What the nominator said:

“Jim’s skill set and commitment to excellence as a photographer can be seen in area publications like Delaware Today, Out & About, and the Delaware State Tourism Office. With Moonloop, he has also donated to efforts like Save The Valley, Christina Cultural Arts, IN Wilmington and the Wilmington Fire Department, to name a few. His ability to communicate with clients and subjects to get the best out of them shows time and
time again in his work.”

Social media platform you can’t live without:

Biggest break:

“My biggest break was when I was first starting out with photographing weddings. I had shot for several other studios but didn’t really have a portfolio of my own work to show to potential clients. They would take a chance on me and trust my knowledge and experience when I didn’t have much to show.”

Two words that best describe you:

Passionate and driven.

Work/life balance technique you recommend:

“I have two small daughters, so every once in a while I will leave the phone at home or on silent. Off-grid vacations can be stressful, but family focus is key.”

Your advice for the next generation:

“At one point or another you will be asked ‘Where can you see yourself in 10 years?’ Write it down and make sure you see it frequently. Don’t lose focus of your goals.”

In one sentence, define success:

“Success is when you proudly know that what you’re doing is what defines you.”
