If the children are indeed our future, Stephanie Howe Guarino is doing her best to make sure that future is as bright and promising as possible. Described as a visionary young leader in her field by colleagues, Guarino recently completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at Nemours/A.I. du Pont Hospital for Children, which followed her combined residency in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics at Christiana Care Health System and Nemours. Guarino is also a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Medical Society of Delaware.
Guarino regularly participates in legislative conferences and advocacy days with the Medical Society of Delaware and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She was recently selected to participate in the American Society of Hematology’s Advocacy Leadership Institute. In 2013, she earned a 2013 Leadership Delaware fellow position while becoming the first resident to complete the program, and she currently sits on the board of the Delaware Foundation for Medical Services, the charitable and education arm of the Medical Society of Delaware.
