Delaware one of Kiplinger’s most-tax-friendly states

Kiplinger’s magazine has ranked Delaware as its seventh most-tax-friendly state.

The magazine called the First State a standout among its East Coast neighbors because it has no sales tax and low property taxes, although it noted income taxes escalate quickly from the low of 2.2 percent to 6.6 percent on taxable income about $60,000.

Kiplinger’s 10 most-tax-friendly states are:

  4. Florida
  5. Nevada
  6. North Dakota
  7. Delaware
  8. Arizona
  9. Louisiana
  10. Mississippi

It’s 10 least-tax-friendly states are:

  1. Maryland
  2. Minnesota
  3. New York
  4. Illinois
  5. Maine
  6. Vermont
  7. Hawaii
  8. California
  9. Connecticut
  10. New Jersey
