Free help offered to startups and businesses

Georgetown – The Sussex County Economic Development Action Committee will sponsor a free business development session for existing businesses and new startups.
“Open for Business,” scheduled on November 17, offers free, one-stop access to agencies and organizations that assist small businesses with funding, consulting and training in Sussex County.
The next session is scheduled from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center, 21911 Rudder Lane in Georgetown, on the site of Delaware Coastal Airport.
“Whether you’re a startup or established business looking for assistance in writing a business plan, marketing, business continuity planning or working with financial institutions, you can find it at Sussex County Open for Business,” said Bill Pfaff, assistant state director of the Delaware Small Business Development Center.
Some of the organizations that will be on hand November 17 include the Delaware Small Business Development Center, Sussex County Economic Development Office, The Center for Enterprise Development; Delaware State University; Delaware Economic Development Office; Delaware Manufacturing Extension Partnership; Delaware Procurement Technical Assistance Center; Delaware Technical & Community College’s Entrepreneur Center; Score Delaware; Southern Delaware Tourism; Sussex County Economic Development Office; U.S. Small Business Administration; Delaware Office of Supplier Diversity; Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control; Delaware Department of Transportation; USDA and the Delaware State Housing Authority.
