Harvey Hanna & Associates, Inc., the commercial real estate redevelopment firm, on April 22 announced the launch of a website, GMBoxwoodFacts.com, to provide Wilmington-area residents and other interested parties with important information regarding its ongoing redevelopment of the former General Motors plant in Wilmington.
The demolition that commenced in November 2018 is planned to be completed in September of this year. Groundbreaking for the construction of the new business and logistics campus will commence this fall. Updates regarding this progress will be posted to the new website.
“As a New Castle County-based company made up of Delaware natives and longtime residents, we hold the health and safety of our community with the highest regard,” said Thomas J. Hanna, president of Harvey, Hanna & Associates. “This website will provide our neighbors with first-hand access to the facts, putting to rest the false and irresponsible rumors that have been circulating about the work to transform this long-vacant property.”
The new website also will keep the community informed regarding recent concerns raised about asbestos removal and handling. The website will be updated on a routine basis with the results of daily air quality testing around the property’s fence line.
“Since purchasing the former GM plant in 2017, Harvey Hanna has maintained a singular focus – to create a modern business campus that can serve as a new economic engine for this area,” said Hanna. “We encourage all Wilmington-area residents to visit GMBoxwoodFacts.com in the coming days and weeks, so that they can learn more about our progress for this exciting redevelopment.”
