Approach to success
Francis has spent her first few months developing a deeper knowledge of the YMCA organization and its various business lines. Her most visible contribution has been to streamline and automate the current performance evaluation process to accommodate the YMCA’s different businesses (including fitness, wellness, youth development and more) and various employee life cycles (seasonal-only, year-round employees, multiple part-time roles). The process has been renamed ACHIEVEMENT to bring greater focus to the accomplishments of each employee. She also introduced an online employee survey to establish a baseline of feedback to better understand the perspective of staff.
Francis is working to provide high-school participants in the YMCA’s teen youth program with written assessments of their skills, hobbies, personality traits and value system to help them make better college and career choices. She also takes an active role in various community events and fundraising campaigns.
