Longwood Foundation awards $400K to building in downtown Dover

The Longwood Foundation has awarded $400,000 to the National Council on Agricultural Life and Labor Research Fund, Inc. (NCALL) for the development of the new commercial space in downtown Dover.

The three-story multi-purpose building is located on the corner of West Division Street and North New Street. Demolition has already begun and construction is set to begin soon.

“There will be offices for Restoring Central Dover, a place for community meetings, Delaware State University’s small business incubator, and much more,” said NCALL Executive Director Karen Speakman. “Many thanks go to Thère du Pont, Foundation President, and the Longwood Trustees for their generosity and vision!”

NCALL is a nonprofit affordable housing organization that teaches homeownership education. The organization has assisted over 8,750 households in Delaware to become new homeowners.
