The Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance will hold its first webinar on June 30 to unveil its newest tool making it easier for businesses to file their quarterly unemployment tax reports.
The Employer Portal allows employers to file quarterly reports and make payments using their banking information. This portal is not currently set up for bulk filing. The portal also allows access to the State Information Data Exchange System, dubbed SIDES.
SIDES is a tool that helps employers receive and submit Form UC119C – Separation Notice electronically when a claim for unemployment insurance benefits is filed.
SIDES expedites the receipt of separation information by the Division of Unemployment Insurance and is an effective tool in preventing the improper payment of unemployment insurance benefits.
“We are very excited about this for two reasons,” said Thomas Ellis, director for the Division of Unemployment Insurance. “First of all, SIDES is great step forwarding in improving services and automation. Secondly, using a webinar to bring this type of information to Delaware employers could be a game changer.”
The Delaware Department of Labor plans to expand its use of webinars for all its divisions to meet employers where they live and work, Ellis said.
To register for the one-hour webinar, which begins at 2 p.m,. employers may email to DOL UI Employer Tax Questions@state.de.us with the word “webinar” in the title line. Once the email is received, DOL will send a confirmation within 72 hours.
