Rehoboth Beach mayor expresses support for Clean Power Plan

Rehoboth Beach Mayor Paul Kuhs joined 233 mayors from 46 states in expressing his support for the Clean Power Plan — the state-by-state framework for reducing carbon emissions mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.  .

The letter comes as EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt attempts to dismantle the Obama-era plan for addressing climate change, despite its own studies saying the plans could prevent 4,500 premature deaths each year by 2030.

“States, cities, and businesses across the country are moving forward with clean energy solutions that reduce air and carbon pollution and grow the clean energy economy, creating good-paying American jobs. We understand the economic, environmental and health benefits of clean energy solutions and acutely understand the risks associated with dirty energy sources,” said Mayor Kuhns. “That is why I joined mayors from across America to urge the federal government provide certainty and support for local government and business by keeping the Clean Power Plan intact, as well as to protect the health and welfare of our communities.”
