Dr. Sheryl F. Kline, professor and department chair in the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware, welcomes students to a tour of the hotel operations at Courtyard Marriott at the University of Delaware.

The ACE Mentor Program of America, Inc. (ACE) mentors high school students and inspires them to pursue careers in design and construction. It’s now the construction industry’s fastest-growing high school mentoring program, reaching over 8,000 students annually. The program recently brought more than 60 students, 10 mentors and teachers from Delaware Vo-Tech to tour Courtyard Marriott at UD. Their project this year is to design a hotel. Bill Sullivan, hotel managing director, said the students were very eager to learn some of the features of the hotel, which is used as part of the hands-on program for a hospitality degree.
